Sections of Warminster Community Park to be Closed During Grant Construction
Effective Immediately, sections of Warminster Community Park will be closed to the public during grant project construction. These closures will extend through the spring months but Meco Constructors, Inc. will do their best to complete phases of the project and reopen areas as they are completed. We recognize that this will cause some disruption to regular park visitors and hope that you will bear with us throughout the process. This large multi-grant project will greatly expand the public amenities in WCP and we are trying to confine all work to the winter/spring months when there is less activity in the park. We hope the entire project will be completed by June 2021.
The parking lot, pond trail, perimeter trail, Hallowell pavilion, and playground will remain open to the public. Access to the dog park will be via grass instead of a paved trail. Trees along the crossover trail are being relocated to other areas of the park or into the new parking areas.
The basketball courts, Safety Town, much of the runway, and the interior trails will be blocked or closed. Heavy equipment will be bringing in dirt for the sport fields and moving dirt for stormwater, sections of runway will be removed for greening and landscaping. Other sections of the runway will be milled and paved for centralized parking lots, additional basketball courts and access roads. Cyclists will need to use the perimeter trail to gain access to the Bristol Road exit when sections of the runway are closed.
The safety of our park visitors is important. Please be sure to follow signs and observe closed areas so that we do not have to shut down the entire park during construction. If you have questions, please contact the Township Parks & Recreation Department: 215-443-5428 or email@example.com.
