*Any discipline problem must be reported to the responsible Division Director or Commissioner immediately!
**Goalie may not use hands to play ball when it is passed back to him/her in the U13 & Senior Divisions
***If a penalty happens within the box the ball will be placed on the 18 yard line at the spot the foul that occurred in the box. The defensive team may set up a wall 10 yards away from the ball.
SPECIAL NOTES
Coaches are responsible for the behavior of all persons on their side of the field. The abuse of any player, official or coach (including your own family members) will not be tolerated. Make this a rewarding experience for the players.
Head Coach should accompany any injured player for needed medical treatment when the parent or legal guardian is not present or able to do so. Do not delegate this responsibility to anyone else!
All players must play an equal portion of the total minutes of each game when they are present, or as close to an equal portion as is possible. By agreement of coaches, U10 and U13 leagues may play quarters during extreme heat or cold.
Make good use of substitutions during the game rather than have any player sit for an entire half. Unlimited substitutions are permitted during play. These substitutions may occur after a goal, on your corner kick, before goal kicks and on your throw-in. You may sub on the other teams throw-in if they are going to sub and you have your players ready at midfield to go in the game.
You may sub at any time for an injury. Only the injured player may be replaced. There is to be no coaching from the sidelines during an injury stoppage. If one coach is occupied attending to an injured player, it would be an unfair advantage to allow the other team a coaching opportunity.
In the event that one team has a three goal lead, Coaches must remove one player from the field and play one down. In the event that same team still manages to score two more goals and have a five goal lead, Coaches must remove a second player and play two down . This is the only time one team is allowed to play more than one up. Once the goal differential drops below five, one player may be added back onto the field. Once the goal differential drops below three, the second player may be added back onto the field. (Please Note: This rule is in effect for all teams during regular season play. During the playoffs and tournament, this rule will not be in effect)
Goals may be scored from a kickoff, a direct free kick, goal kick, penalty kick, corner kick, drop ball and goal keeper’s throw or punt. Goals may not be scored directly from an indirect free kick, throw-in, and a free kick in a team’s own goal.
No game may be canceled without the permission of the Division Director or Intramural Commissioner (or referee, after play begins). All canceled games will be made up on the first Sunday following, where possible. In the event a team is unable to play at full strength at the start, the opposing team is not required to play down; however, if the game is played even up, there would be no question as to the fairness of the game. No team may play more than one up, except is one team is ahead by five or more goals.
Do not use ineligible players to fill empty positions (players not registered with WSC as a member of your team) due to insurance regulations. This includes allowing older or younger siblings to play games or fill in at practices. It makes no difference if these siblings are registered with WSC as intramural or travel players on another team.
Any rules questions not covered here should be asked of your Division Director, who will either know the answer, or can get the answer for you.
Smoking is PROHIBITED at all District Fields.
ALL PLAYERS MUST WEAR CLEATS AND SHIN GUARDS
